Bella Umbrella LOVES this photo shoot by Amber French Photography! Nautical decor always seems so whimsical and dreamy.  There is a certain calmness when photos are taken by the water.  This couple has such a fun time with this bright yellow parasol against the moody background of the Northwest.  This makes me want to get dressed up and have a photo shoot right now!  Who says that playing dress up is only for when you’re a kid?  Get out there and snap a few photos…or call on Amber French Photography for some portraits. Michelle Dirkse Interior Design Photo Shoot

Bella Umbrella LOVED being a part of this innovative photo shoot and video!  You have to check out this interior designers work!  Based in Seattle, Michelle Dirkse Interior Design decided to play on the mystique of the gray Seattle rain for a new portrait for her website.  By renting colorful vintage umbrellas from Bella Umbrella, Michelle used her experience as a photography and commercial set designer to create her own colorful compliment to the raining gray paint swatches.  “As an interior designer, I’m often out and about shopping for clients or meeting with contractors and suppliers.  I wanted to make an image that’s representative of the creative energy that I put into each individual project rather than simply taking a photo of me at my desk working on blueprints and budgets. The staff at Bella Umbrella,  Devin Belmain Photography and Kevin Cox Design helped me make my creative vision come to life!” 

Michelle Dirkse Interior Design is a full service interior design firm.  Principal designer Michelle Dirkse will be partnering with City Hardware in South Lake Union this Sunday April 28th to offer free in-store consultations from 12-3pm.

Real Wedding & Advice from a Bride

There is so much to coordinate on your wedding day that it’s easy to lose focus of what’s most important.  The most important thing is not the flowers, giveways or table arrangements… it’s YOU and your FIANCE.  As long as the two of you commit to loving each other on your special day, that’s all that matters.  Listen to this wonderful story and advice from a real bride:

 

The morning of our wedding day I remember waking up to the sound of rushing
water in the gutter outside my window. I was panicked! We had planned an
outdoor wedding. But my groom drove to my apartment, gave me a hug and
whispered in my ear “today you are the sun, everything will be fine” I will
never forget this.

After getting ready at my Grandparents house in Lakewood,
about ten minutes from our venue I felt numb as I walked onto the wet
pavement and family members were asking me if I should move the wedding
inside. I just said, “no everything will be fine” just like my groom,
promised. My bridesmaids and I were escorted to Steilacoom by my grandfather
or “Pa” as I called him since I could first speak, that was touching in and
of itself, but as we entered the historic town of Steilacoom I heard Pa say
“well would you look at that,” we noticed that the pavement was dry, not one
drop of rain, and so maybe I was the “sun” that chased the rain away,
after-all I am the morning in our a.m./ p.m. union but that was a sprinkle
of wedding day magic I just couldn’t keep to myself.

Future brides and grooms even though your day may not be what you envisioned
cherish every moment even the setbacks. Over time those rain clouds can
reveal little rainbow moments that you will remember for the rest of your
lives.
